Truckee River Team Building, Volunteer Service & Educational Opportunities for Corporate Groups

Tired of pizza parties?

At One Truckee River, we work to ensure a healthy, thriving, sustainable Truckee River connected to the hearts and minds of its community. We provide Lunch & Learn experiences, educational riverwalks, and volunteer service work paired with team building opportunities connected to the Truckee River. For your next employee retreat, we invite you to join us for a unique experience linked to the gem of our region, our favorite waterway.

This quarter, encourage your team to get to know one another better, through participation in a fun and meaningful activity – outside, along the river, or in the office. We have three options to choose from. Each can be tailored to match your corporate goals, company’s interests, and business needs. We will work with you to develop the ideal experience, utilizing our understanding of the river, connection to the local community, and team building expertise.

Our goal? To help your group understand the importance of the Truckee River while enjoying it together. We’ll combine team building activities with volunteer service or an educational event to help your team gain a new perspective of the Truckee River in Nevada.

Depending on the activity you select and the size of your team, we will have a suggested tax-deductible donation or a flat rate service fee to One Truckee River. This will cover a speaker fee (if applicable) and staff time preparing your experience, hosting your day, and sharing post-event  highlights with you.

Team Building Opportunities Along the Truckee River in Nevada

Topics can be tailored to meet the interests of your team. Volunteer service as a team, including picking up litter, can be paired with an educational walk if desired.

Volunteer Service

One Truckee River’s Workforce Program:

Your team is invited to join our Workforce crew members for a half day of volunteer service along the Truckee River. Together, your team will engage in activities to care for native trees near the river - planting trees, spreading mulch, pulling invasive weeds, and more. An engaged talk about the importance of protecting the Truckee River and a variety of active team building activities can be incorporated to the level desired, providing a meaningful shared experience for your corporate group or company team.

Educational Riverwalks

Visit and Learn More About the Truckee River in Nevada:

Your team is invited to schedule a walk along the Truckee River with our staff to visit, learn about, and enjoy the river. You will discover the creatures that call the Truckee River their home in the desert, identify native plant life, and better understand why these species matter so much for the river’s ecosystem and our local communities.

Lunch & Learn Experiences

Have Us Come to You:

One Truckee River values the importance of everyone learning and building stronger networks to protect the Truckee River. Our Lunch & Learn experiences are designed to provide unique opportunities to understand current efforts to protect and improve the Truckee River – and why they matter. Depending on your team’s goals, your Lunch & Learn can take place in a formal or informal environment. At One Truckee River, our aim is to support everyone to learn more about the Truckee River that flows from Lake Tahoe to Pyramid Lake, providing irreplaceable drinking water and recreational opportunities to our Truckee Meadows community.
