One Truckee River Coalition Progress
One Truckee River works to ensure a healthy, thriving, sustainable river connected to the hearts and minds of its community.
From 2013 to 2016, the OTR partnership came together through the leadership of Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful and the Nevada Land Trust with support from the Truckee River Fund and developed One Truckee River (OTR) and the OTR Management Plan. In 2016, the OTR Plan was unanimously adopted by Washoe County, City of Reno, City of Sparks, and Western Regional Water Commission. The OTR Plan includes 103 action items for protecting the Truckee River. At the end of 2017, the OTR Partnership Council selected nine priority action items from the OTR Management Plan to have the OTR watershed coalition focus on.
At the core, One Truckee River is working towards 4 organizational goals. Within these four goals there are many action items and objectives to take. Currently, OTR has completed and continues to work on the nine high-priority action items under OTR’s main goals, listed below.
